Memory Evaluation

 The first time when I received this assignment; I started thinking about memories of my dog who died when I was little. She was my first dog in my life therefore I decided to make memory project about her. I knew what I wanted to do so I started getting out the ideas of what I wanted to make my final outcome and started developing. It was easy while I was thinking but it wasn’t easy when I started to work on it. I started writing about the accident story of my dog. I showed it to my teacher and we discussed about what we should develop my work. 

I researched the artists’ work and a little bit about themselves while I was working on my project to get the idea of what I should do. I made research using the Internet then I did stick their works into my sketchbook. I also wrote annotate each of their works. I took some of the idea from the artist and made my project inspired by them. In this project I drew lots of picture of my dog and painted of my dog then did photo manipulation by using all of my works on Photoshop.

I have made 3 dimensional project of my dog by using foam, masking tape, small pin and the scalpel with the cutting map. I used 3 layers for the dog head base on my dog’s story. I made the whole dog’s body to make the project stand very well to make it look perfect. I did have problem with make my object to stand very well because it was made by quiet soft foam. I didn’t know I will have to make 3D project so the project out come didn’t look well but if I will have more time I would like to improve my design to something unique and looking great.

I had some difficulties with annotating the artists’ work and my own work because it was hard to describe of what I think about their work in Art language such as what is the art is telling and showing. I couldn’t hand it in my project on the deadline day because I didn’t finish my 3 dimensional works on the time I should be finished.  I wasn’t satisfied with the 3D project because it looked simple and looks very boring.

I did organise my work by sticking the works into sketchbook in the right pages and I wrote the number of the page to make it easier to find it. If I will have more time for this project I would like to create more of the 3D project by using many different materials and paint my dog’s picture with many different type of paint techniques.

About my dog named "JC"

Since I was a little girl I love dogs and puppies. They are the wonderful animals in the world that stay very close and faithful to their owners.  I received my puppy when I was 8 years old.  My parents promised me if I get grade A they will buy me a puppy so I worked hard and got an A in the whole class so they were proud of me and bought me a puppy.

My parents brought me to the place where I could choose my own puppy. That day I was so exciting about having a puppy. When I arrived there I saw so many puppies that wanted me to choose them. In the group of puppies I saw my shiny brown puppy who came to my foot and bit my toes. I picked her up and she looked so adorable. I could see from her face that one day she was going to be a very loyal dog for me.

I brought her back to my home after I chose her. She was a very tiny puppy and in my country the weather is very hot and at night it is dark so my parents worried about the puppy and decided to take it back to the place where I got it from for a while. I didn’t want to do that but I had to, so I let my parents do it. She is a mixed breed of Jack Russell terrier and Cavalier Kings Charles Spaniel.

I named her JC because she is always jumpy and bouncy just like a jelly and very cute so I gave her JC. One week later my parents brought her to our home in the afternoon. As soon as she got out from the car she came to me and licked my toes and my face. She knew me already. She was a very playful puppy as she is very young. She never liked to be left alone in the house but if we had to she understood and stayed quietly at home. She understood human beings very well. She became a member of our family.

She loved to come with us for a ride in the car. I still remembered how she stood up near the window and her head was out and she loved to stay like that anytime we took her for a ride with us. She just loved us a lot and she never liked us to leave her. One day she got pregnant with a Pug and we took extra care for her to be healthy all the time. Even though she got pregnant she never cared for herself and always came into my bedroom and slept.  A few weeks later she had a litter of puppies of her own. Her puppies were so adorable just like her. We decided to keep one for her and sold the other puppies to a good home.

Her daughter’s name was Punkey because she got a penguin sign wrinkle on her forehead.  My JC didn’t care about her own daughter after 8 weeks of the puppy’s age. She kept coming into my room and wanted to sleep with me. She didn’t care even though her daughter was crying because she didn’t’ stay with her. She just loves human beings. She always needed attention from us. Her daughter is totally different with her. She didn’t really like to cuddle to her, to be picked up or kissed by her.

JC was so jealous of her daughter because we took care of her daughter like how we did when she was young so she didn’t like it. She only wanted us to take care of her. When we left both alone at home her daughter didn’t mind but she kept crying, barking. We made both of them used to it and they both got used to it and fine at the end of the day.

One day we left both of them in our big garden and planned to go out in the car. JC she used to come with us wherever we went so she wanted to come with us a lot. When we left our house she was looking at us and her daughter was making her play but she didn’t give any attention to her daughter and stared at me. My housemaid forgot to close the door because she was trying to put both dogs in the house. As soon as we left and got quite far away from our house JC ran after our car and didn’t look around her and a mini car hit her and drove away.

I was shocked because I saw everything and I started to cry and we turned around our car and went to JC.  Sadly she passed away straight away because her head and body got separated as the mini cut it off.  That was the saddest day for us. As a tradition people say your dog saved your life instead of us going to die, she saved us. Her daughter didn’t know because she was in the house. I cried a lot so did my family. She was the best loyal dog for us and we had to lose her in this way, which is just so sad.

I took her daughter near her to show what happened to her mother, which I shouldn’t have done. The puppy didn’t know what had happened so she didn’t care. We made JC a grave in our garden and we put stuff that she liked when she was alive.  On the same night my mum dreamt about her that she was playing with us and jumping. A few days later her daughter was waiting for her in front of the gate. She didn’t know her mum passed away and she kept waiting and waiting. This is the best memory for me from my childhood. Her daughter is still alive and she is a very healthy dog and loves to be alone because she is a lazy pug.

JC is the best dog I’ve ever had. She was a friendly, very loyal and playful dog. 

Trip To Oxford Galleries

Oxford University Museum Of Natural History

This trip was my second trip and again we took coach from college. This picture is the ticket that I bought  from College to go to oxford museum with teachers and class mates. This trip was amazing because I got to see the old antique of the many different colour. I got learn about the history of each things which are very interesting.

This museum is located in Oxford, Parks Road OX1 3PW. In the museum there are millions of old stuffs that used in the history. It has all the history of each country. I took so many pictures in the museum about amazing history of each country of what they used, how they lived and what type of travel they used, what type of games and money they had in years ago. It was such an amazing trip; in Oxford there are so many museum that you can go for visit. I would like to go to Oxford again to visit more museum that I didn't have chance to visit the last time when I went. 







This is the buddha statue that I saw it in the museum. I got surprised when I saw this statue in the museum because not many people know about Burma; by the way I am from Burma and this made me happy when I saw it. There are many more stuffs about my country that I've never seen it before too so I really happy that I got chance to go to the trip to museum.

Trip To Hurst Castle

This was my first trip in Second year. College organised for this trip for photography assignment and drawing assignment. Hurst Castle is situated at the seaward end of the shingle spit that extends 1.5 miles from Milford-On-Sea. The address is 28 Park Road, Milford on Sea, Lymington, Hants, SO41 0QU. I went to hurst castle by coach with teachers and classmate from College. It took an hour and a half from College, as soon as we arrived to the distinction we all walked to fairies because we had to take fairies to get to the castle but some student walked for half and hour.

Hurst Castle is surrounded by sea so I got to take a shoot of natural beauty of sea with boats and ships going around. There are so many little stones on the ground around the castle. I took the picture on the top by moving around my camera to get full view. That is the view of the castle's back, at the front there are so many boats, fairies to cross to other area.
I also took a picture of light house in front of castle. In the castle there are so many history about the war stuffs, they are all so old but it was amazing that I got to see the stuffs that I never seen before. I got so many nice photo from going to the trip, I really like the view of front of the castle and the back. Castle's inside is looking so old but have one coffee shop for the people who come to visit to the castle.

This is one of the good picture that I've took it in front of the castle. The picture is showing very natural daylight of the front of the castle. That is the light house in front of the castle surrounding with long grasses. It was too windy so all the trees are going to the direction of where the wind goes that's why I really like this photo. It is so natural without any edition. The colour of the cloud is very natural.

I found many other objects in the castle which its very useful for my drawing assignment.  I like going to trips which is concern with my course that I'm learning. Every time I went to trips I got to learn more and more stuffs by going to many different places which made me to improve my ideas.

Life Drawing

Life Drawing

                using Charcoal

This is my first life drawing of model in the lesson. I really enjoyed life drawing because I got to learn more about drawing lines and shapes, tones and shadows. I drew this picture by using charcoal. I inspired Degas's life drawing that's why I drew the style of his which shown deep shapes and lines. I like his life drawing because they are very simple, he didn't use very thick line and shown the simple shapes of the body of the human that he drawn. I'm very pleased with my first life drawing of using charcoal. I thought it is going to be hard and it turned out pretty cool so I'm happy with my work. Life drawing is really interesting drawing because it is primary drawing. I drew the model who is laying down on the bed with white sheet. Drawing with charcoal is much better than pencil because I can do shading and shadows properly.

This is my second drawing of life drawing in the lesson by using Charcoal. This time model is sitting on the chair putting her hands between her thighs. This one is a bit challenging for me because it is hard to draw of the model sitting down rather than lying on the bed. So I found it quiet difficult of drawing on this one, it was also quite hard to do measurement of the whole body but at the end, final outcome is all right so I am quiet happy with this but I like my first picture more because it is showing the expression of the model by the way she lie down on the mattress. I really enjoyed today life drawing and this experienced taught me how to measure the human body in many different ways.

   

Evaluation for Chair

I wasn't really clear about what I have to do with chair assignment because I don't know how are we going to make our final chair ( what kind of material do we have to use to make final design). I kind of had difficulty at the start point, I don't know what kind of design I should make. Even though I'm not clear what I have to do I started thinking of my own chair designs to draw. I did researched of many famous artist, I looked at their chair style, I made a note that how they made the chairs, what kind of chair style they made most etc...

I drew many chairs as I can, at the end of the day |I made 2 final chairs with my own ideas. Each of my chair design is different, first chair is rounded style and second chair is square style. After I knew what to do with my chair I drew each of the chair in details. I choose the colours that it will look good and stand out. For my first chair I used white for outside look and inside is pink, I think they both are match colour and I'm sure that colours are that I want so I painted them. I used small electric light on that chair because inside its dark because it cover every way part from the front, I made pink caution to make it comfortable to sit.

My second chair is different with my first chair, its square style. I used dark colours on that chair. Left side of the chair I made a little small box that you can put newspaper or book and you can take it out and read when you are sitting on the chair. At the back I put another style of sitting style chair which 2 people can side giving their back, you can put other stuffs if you don't want to sit. That is my own idea as well I drew perspective drawing too in my sketchbook.

We did have enough time to finish our final chair so I'm happy with my designs, and i think I've done very successful. I worked on my chair in the lessons, my own time, anytime when I'm free I worked on them to finish it quickly. I really did enjoy with this assignment because this is my very first time that I had to make my own chair design and make it out with material. I think I completely finished them on time, I didn't have to rush to finish them too so I'm really happy with that. I think I'm always improving on every assignment and I try to get better for every new assignment.

Evaluation

I was very clear about what I have to do for this project. It was not really difficult to do but it took very long time for each techniques: drawing,colouring with colour pencils, painting and using ink pen for the outlines.When I received this assignment from my teacher, my first thought was I going to try my best to achieve Distinction and finish it before the deadline, which is the most important thing to do for every assignment. All the information I found it on the internet and in the lesson, I made a note on the every page for what I need to do in every single page.

I researched the 5 artists and wrote about them and their works on my blog http://maymtk.blogspot.com/. I always scared about what if I cannot handle my work on time so I always work so hard and trying my best to finish it on time. Before I move on my final designs, I drew 4 different type of technique by each artist that I had learnt in this project. I chose one of the picture that I wanted to use as an example then I started drawing with the pencil, after I finished drawing with the pencils I started using black and white ink style inspired by David Downton, on the second picture I used water colour and used ink for the outline inspired by Julie Verhoven. My third picture I just drew it with the colour pencils inspired by the two artists: Agnes Decourelle and Zoe More OFerral.

The last technique was the colour paper cut inspired by Michael Robert. I like his style most because that was really creative, but really hard to make for the tiny pieces on the dresses or shoe or stuffs it is connecting with the fashion model.After that I chose one of the techniques that I would like to do it for my final design. I chose the water colour with black ink outline because I like it most of all. It looks clearly and looking great and I hope everyone might like it too that is why I decided to do that technique for my final design. When I moved on to do it I had to choose 4 pictures, I had 12 pictures and each four are same colour, yellow, and green, red. I choose yellow because that colour present as sun so I think my designs will stand out if I use that.

I had learnt the new technique on these projects, I have never used ink and paper cut style before but now I know how to do it. I believe that I will learn more drawing technique in every assignment. Every works that I have done I stick it all in my book and organised very well so that when my teacher mark my book they will understand about every single work that I done.


If I will have an extra time for this assignment I will do more research and writing about my final designs and works. I think I completed everything on this project, I did have to rush on the day I have to give the teacher for this projects, I wrote annotation for the other works that I have not done it. Annotation was not really good but I did my best for this assignment and cannot wait for the next assignment and want to know what type of designs I have to do it.
