Evaluation (Illustration)

Evaluation
I was very clear about what I have to do for this project. It was not really difficult to do but it took very long time for each techniques: drawing, colouring with colour pencils, painting and using ink pen for the outlines. When I received this assignment from my teacher, my first thought was I going to try my best to achieve Distinction and finish it before the deadline, which is the most important thing to do for every assignment. All the information I found it on the internet and in the lesson, I made a note on the every page for what I need to do in every single page.

I researched the 5 artists and wrote about them and their works on my blog http://maymtk.blogspot.com/. I always scared about what if I cannot handle my work on time so I always work so hard and trying my best to finish it on time. Before I move on my final designs, I drew 4 different type of technique by each artist that I had learnt in this project. I chose one of the picture that I wanted to use as an example then I started drawing with the pencil, after I finished drawing with the pencils I started using black and white ink style inspired by David Downton, on the second picture I used water colour and used ink for the outline inspired by Julie Verhoven. My third picture I just drew it with the colour pencils inspired by the two artists: Agnes Decourelle and Zoe More OFerral.

The last technique was the colour paper cut inspired by Michael Robert. I like his style most because that was really creative, but really hard to make for the tiny pieces on the dresses or shoe or stuffs it is connecting with the fashion model. After that I chose one of the techniques that I would like to do it for my final design. I chose the water colour with black ink outline because I like it most of all. It looks clearly and looking great and I hope everyone might like it too that is why I decided to do that technique for my final design. When I moved on to do it I had to choose 4 pictures, I had 12 pictures and each four are same colour, yellow, and green, red. I choose yellow because that colour present as sun so I think my designs will stand out if I use that.

I had learnt the new technique on these projects, I have never used ink and paper cut style before but now I know how to do it. I believe that I will learn more drawing technique in every assignment. Every works that I have done I stick it all in my book and organised very well so that when my teacher mark my book they will understand about every single work that I done.

If I will have an extra time for this assignment I will do more research and writing about my final designs and works. I think I completed everything on this project, I did have to rush on the day I have to give the teacher for this projects, I wrote annotation for the other works that I have not done it. Annotation was not really good but I did my best for this assignment and cannot wait for the next assignment and want to know what type of designs I have to do it.

England's Dreaming: Anarchy, Sex Pistols, Punk Rock, and Beyond.

His works are a little bit awkward looking at my side. I never seen those kind of art so.

Agnes Decourchelle (Illustration work)

Agnes Decourchelle is one of the illustrator, works in eye candy illustration agency. I have seen many of his works on the internet, all his works are draw with the colour pencils. He doesn't use any other techniques like other artist. He just used the colour pencils but every works are really looking good and colorful as he uses colour pencils.

In this first picture wasn't his work, he took the picture of his work, on his work he put all the colour pencils and then took the picture. Colours represents the rainbow and happiness that's why I like his work, they all look colourful and brings me happiness. It is kinda hard to draw with the colour pencil directly without you draw with pencils. I have drawn a few pictures of the same technique like him. You can see it on my sketchbook page 23, I love to draw it with the colour pencil but sometime I found it hard to draw it directly with the colour pencils.

This is one of his picture that I've found it on the internet, this picture looks really good. He used most of the colour is sky blue in this picture, sky blue colour is cool colour which makes people happy. And in the picture I can see that 2 boys and a girl are in the bakery restaurant with a baker, they look so happy. What I don't like is, its too bright when you look at it first, it only brings happy in later.
This is another picture of his work that I like, it seems like a boy is trying to feeding the cat outside of his house in the field and they cat was running away from him. Here again in this work he also used the bright sky blue colour so I can see that its very cold in the picture. I like this picture because the way he drew the distance between the house and a boy, it turns out really great. What I don't like again in this picture was its too bright.

In my work I done the same technique as him, it was kinda hard to do it the same as his style so I traced the picture with the colour pencils.

Andy Warhol (Illustration work)

Andy Warhol was born on August 6, 1928 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania US. His birth name was Andrew Warhola and his nationality is American. He a really good was an American painter, printmaker, and filmmaker, he done fashion illustrations as well. His work was Print making, painting, pop art. His famous work are Chelsea Girls (1966), Exploding Plastic inevitable (1966 event) and Campbel's soup Cans (1962).

This is his fashion illustration, used of colour is bright and clean, look really good. I think he used ink and water colour. I also copied his style and drew it on my book page 24.I like his style because I can clearly see what is this picture talking about but for other artist they are not really showing exactly what is it and hard to think. I'm gonna make my final piece copy of his style and improve it a little bit to his style in my own way.

He died on February 22, 1987 when he was aged of 58 in New York US. Warhol's grave is at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery. For the great artist, died age of 58 was really sad.

David Downton (Illustration work)

David Downton was born in Kent in the south of England in 1959. He studied at Canterbury (Foundation year 1977-1978) and Wolverhampton (BA hons illustration/graphics 1979-1981).
In 1984 he moved to Brighton and began his illustration career. He worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from advertising and packaging to illustrating fiction, cook books and, occasionally, fashion. He is an fashion illustrator, he is another artist just like Julie Verhoeven they both art are different. David Downton works are really great too, his works are more neat and clean.  He is still alive and kept doing his work until 2009.

I like this picture is really nice the way he uses colour, the shape, tones and everything are perfect. It shows the dress style clearly, and looks hard to make it. The green colour is present the brave sign so if you look at this picture, the dress style look likes really soft even thou it in the picture.
This picture is another one of my favorite of his work, the design of the dress is really nice. He used this picture with an ink and the water colour. I also drew the same technique as his works, drawing with the ink and ink pen are kinda hard to draw it because after you have finish you have to wait till it get dry. If not the work won't turn out that professional.

This is concentrate on the face. I think this is the advert picture of Chanel brand. This is really cool and he just used the simple technique Ink, the shade and the tones are really good too. What i don't like about this work it, it is kinda look simple and there is no other colour are added, just drew it with the black ink.

Julie Verhoeven (Illustration work)

Julie Verhoeven is an artist, illustrator and designer based in London, the fashion industry as a designer, illustrator, creative director and tutor.Verhoeven has her own fashion label called Gibo, was launched in September 2002, and she went on to collaborate with global brands including, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Mulberry and H&M. Her works style are abstract. Most of her works are working with crayon and water colour. She teaches fashion at Respect University.
This picture is one of her fashion abstract style. She just used water colour and acrylic, the way she drew this picture is different with other fashion designer, she doesn't show it clearly. She is more concentrate on faces I think because I've seen lots of her works and every works I saw, I can see the face properly and every face style is not different. I really like the way she draw, it isn't show it clearly. Looks easy to draw it like her but it isn't that easy as I think when I draw it like her style.
This is another picture of her work, in this one both of the picture designs are cool and she used it many colors on this both pictures. Her works are different with the other artist that I have research for my illustration assignment. I done some of the work copy of her style, using water colour and ink, my works are not really the same as her style because I didn't really understand how to do it like her work but I tried my best to draw like her style.
