Giogio De Chirico (2D)

Giorgio De Chirico is Italian painter and graphic artist and he was born in Volvo, Greece on july 7 1888. He attended the drawing class of the Polytechnic School in Athens, later he and his brother became a famous composer, painter and writer where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts from 1906 to 1909. He painted fantastic ideal architecture and city and landscapes views, strictly following the rules of perspectives, in them he places single statues.
The artist focused more and more on the artistic quality of his paintings, he made the first painting of the "Piazze d'Italia" in 1912. This is really good picture of his work, I like this picture because it looks like the real picture taken and everything is perfect like the way the colour shade and everything.





This picture is call "Love Song (1914)" by De Chirico, this image is in the public domain in the United States. De Chirico is best known for the paintings he produced between 1909 and 1919, in 1913 his work noticed by Pablo Picasso and Gluillaume Apollinaire, he also sold his first painting, "The Red Tower (1913)". In 1914, through Guillaume Apollinaire, he met the art dealer Paul Guillaume with whom he signed a contract for his artistic output.

He returned to Italy in May 1915, he enlisted in the Italian army, but he was considered unfit for work and assigned to the hospital at Ferrara. He continued to paint, and in 1918, he transferred to Rome. From 1918 his work was exhibited extensively in Europe. In 1919 he published an article "The Return of Craftsmanship", in 1924 he married his first wife and they moved to Paris. 1928 he held his first exhibition in New York City and shortly afterwards London. He wrote essays on art and in 1929 published a novel entitled Hebdomeros, the Metaphysicain.

In 1930 he had second wife and they moved to Italy in 1932,he done a lot of works after the year after 1930. He remained extremely prolific even as he approached his 90th year, he died in Rome on November 20, 1978, his home for over thirty years.
De Chirico's the Red Tower (1913) This picture look simple and easy but it isn't that easy to draw. I don't have much done of his work in my sketchbook but I like his work and he is one of my favorite artist. He has done a lot of architectural stuffs too that is why I like him. I did draw one picture of his work in my sketchbook on page 76.
